Nana

Nana Komatsu leaves her hometown with her sights on one thing: a happy life in Tokyo with her boyfriend Shouji. She's sweet, a little naive, and her past romances have mostly ended in tears. On the train to the capital she meets a second Nana, and the two could not be more different. Nana Osaki sings in a punk band, keeps to herself, and is chasing a record deal, not a boyfriend. Her love affair with Ren, her band's bassist, just fell apart, and she gets on that train anyway. Then Tokyo does what Tokyo does. The two run into each other again, this time at an apartment viewing. Both are broke. Both want the place. So they move in together. It works better than either expected, and from there they prop each other up while chasing very different dreams. Meanwhile Shouji has his own plans, and Komatsu's fairy tale starts to crack at the edges. Can two women with the same name and opposite lives really hold each other up when everything else is falling apart?
