The king is dead. His guards are cut down in the forest, and his daughter Alita runs with nothing but the clothes on her back. She slams straight into Falis, a bounty hunter with a short temper and a very big sword, and something snaps in the air between them. When they pick themselves up, each one is wearing the other's body. Alita wants her kingdom back from the court scientist who killed her father, and she has no army. So she strikes a deal: Falis can keep her royal face, her name, her castle, as long as she plays the princess and takes the throne back. Falis and her two henchmen say yes. Storming the capital works, more or less. The problem starts right after, because the only diplomacy Falis has ever practiced involves a blade, and a court full of nobles is not a battlefield. Alita now has to babysit her own stolen body through every banquet and treaty while the two of them hunt for a way to swap back. One wrong word from the throne and the kingdom trades a dead king for a living scandal. Can Alita keep a sword swinging maniac from burning down the court she just saved?
