The Earth Federation won the war, but the peace it bought is thin and getting thinner. A man called Mafty Navue Erin leads a group that answers bullets with bullets, and they have just gotten their hands on a prototype Gundam with enough power to shake the capital itself. His real name is Hathaway Noa. His father was a Federation hero. And the man he cannot stop thinking about, the rebel Char Aznable, is long dead. Then a hijacking goes wrong in the worst way. Hathaway stops the plane from being taken, which should be a clean win, except the hijackers were shouting his name and a young woman named Gigi saw straight through him. She just knows. So now a Federation colonel named Kenneth Sleg is drinking with him like a friend, and Gigi is close enough to figure out the rest, and Hathaway is quietly planning to hit a cabinet meeting in Adelaide hard enough to kill a vote. He has a Gundam, a fake name, and two people near him who could end everything with one wrong word. How long can a man fight a government while standing right next to the people who would turn him in?
