The colonies were supposed to be humanity's fresh start. By the year 0079 of the Universal Century, crowds packed the space settlements while Earth itself sat exhausted below. Then one colony block, Side 3, stopped pretending. It crowned itself the Principality of Zeon and opened fire on the Earth Federation, and its mobile suits hit so hard that the Federation spent nine months losing. Then, on a day that should have been nothing, Zeon forces raided a colony where a secret Federation project was hidden. A fifteen year old kid named Amuro Ray climbed into the machine they found there, the Gundam, and it moved like it had been waiting for him. Now he's on the White Base with a crew that barely knows him, and the enemy ace Char Aznable keeps showing up wherever the fighting is worst. The war drags them from orbit down to Earth and back out into space, and every battle makes Amuro a little less like the boy who stumbled into that cockpit. Can a kid who never asked for any of this end a war that adults started?
