A colony called Angel burns. Nobody knows who did it or why, only that the attackers got a name anyway: UE, unknown enemy. Eight years later the same thing happens to Ovan, and a boy named Flit Asuno watches his mother die in the wreckage. Among her things he finds an odd little device. Inside it, blueprints. For a machine from the distant past, something called Gundam. Flit grows up tinkering at a Federation base on the Nora colony, and at fourteen he and his friends actually get the thing built. Then the UE show up at Nora too, right on schedule. He climbs into the cockpit and takes it out to fight. The relic from his mother does something to the Gundam he did not expect, and the UE go quiet for a while after that. But quiet is not gone. When they come back for the colonies, what exactly will they be walking into?
