Three hundred years after the Calamity War, Earth runs on four economic blocs and Gjallarhorn keeps the peace. Mars just runs on Earth. Kudelia Aina Bernstein, daughter of a wealthy family, can't stomach how her people live, so she buys an escort to Earth from a small security firm called CGS. The ones guarding her are child soldiers. Orga, Mikazuki, and the rest of the Third Division. Then Gjallarhorn storms the CGS base to kill Kudelia. The kids fight back with everything they have, and they find something buried in the rubble: an old weapon from the Calamity War itself. That's when Orga sees it clearly. They were never anybody's soldiers. They were garbage to the adults who used them. Now their comrades are dead and their commanders have sold them out. Orga decides they stop being tools. If Kudelia reaches Earth, it changes everything. But what does that new life cost, and who survives to see it?
