Episode 2 · KanColle

KanColle

Out of the ocean depths they came. Nobody knows exactly what the Abyssal Fleet wants, only that they have already swallowed most of the world's waters and are now eyeing dry land. The answer is a naval base called Chinjufu, where the defenders are not ships or guns but girls. Each one carries the soul of a Japanese warship from the Second World War inside her. Strap on the right gear and that soul turns into real firepower. Then Fubuki walks through the gate. She is a destroyer, brand new, nervous, and she gets handed the worst possible welcome: a spot in the legendary Third Torpedo Squadron, straight into live combat. Her first real fight nearly wipes her off the water. Someone pulls her out of it at the last second, and Fubuki comes back with one thought stuck in her head. She wants to be that strong. Not later. Now. Training alongside Yudachi and Mutsuki, she pushes herself against enemies who keep coming and keep getting worse. But can a rookie who freezes up under fire ever stand on the same level as the girl who saved her life?
