Five worlds float side by side, bound together by a ring of light called the Halo. Then the Halo cracks open. Worlds start bleeding into each other, and a species called Ouroboros comes crawling through the gap, hungry to speed up the end of everything. The five worlds need fighters, and fast. So they gather girls with a power called Exceed. Saya Sougetsu is one of them, a schoolgirl from the Blue World who jumps at the chance to actually do something. On an island in the middle of the Pacific, cut off from the rest of civilization, the recruits train. Saya meets Amane, another girl from Earth, plus a vampire named Almaria, an amnesiac from the Red World, and Stella, an android built to hold her own world's balance together. They are not friends yet. They are just girls sharing a dorm and a battlefield. Now the hard part: Ouroboros is not something a few teenagers can punch through on a good day. Saya and the others have to figure out how to fight as one unit, and if they cannot, the worlds they left behind will not be there to go home to. Can a handful of strangers really hold back the collapse of everything?
