Heroman
Joey spends his afternoons wiping tables at a coffee shop, saving every tip for his grandmother instead of the Heybo robot he's been dreaming about for months. Then one day he spots one in a trash pile, busted and tossed aside by rich kids who got bored. He drags it home and fixes it up himself. Nobody expects much from a toy. Then a storm rips through Center City, rain pours through a hole in the roof, and lightning hits the thing straight on. The robot grows to two meters tall, repaints itself in red, white and blue, and starts moving like it's been waiting for this. That's the same night the Skrugg show up. Turns out Professor Denton's little experiment to send signals into space got someone's attention, and they came all this way to answer. Aliens pour into the streets, people are trapped, and Joey's friend Lina is somewhere in the middle of it. He grabs the arm-mounted controller, and suddenly the shy kid from the coffee shop is giving orders to a machine that can punch through an invasion. But the Skrugg didn't cross the galaxy to turn around at the first punch. How long can one boy and one lightning-struck toy hold a line against an entire army?
