Smoke over the rooftops. That is how it starts for Shu: his village burning, no warning, no name for whoever is doing it. He grabs Jiro and Kluke and they fight back with whatever they have, which is not much. Then a warrior named Zola shows up, and everything they thought they knew about fighting goes out the window. She teaches them to pull monsters out of their own shadows. Shu's shadow coughs up a dragon. A blue one. Not a small trick, either. The strongest thing any of them have ever seen, and it answers to him. So now the three of them and Zola are chasing the army that wrecked their home, and Shu has this enormous power he barely understands. Great, right? Except the enemy did not come out of nowhere, and Zola is not telling them everything she knows. How much of this fight is even theirs?
