Tazusa Sakurano has one shot at the Turin Olympics, and it all comes down to a rink in Canada. She's mid-program when she catches an edge, goes down hard, and cracks her head on the ice. Out cold. Same moment, somewhere over the Rockies, a sixteen year old stunt pilot named Pete Pumps flies his plane straight into the ground. She wakes up in a hospital, her Olympic dream in pieces, and goes home to Japan to figure out what's left. That's when the voice starts. A boy's voice, chatty and way too close, coming from inside her own skull. Pete never made it past the gates upstairs. Something he did keeps him locked out, and for the next hundred days he's stuck riding around in a teenage figure skater's body. She wants him gone. He wants to be anywhere else. Neither of them gets a vote. So she keeps skating, with a dead Canadian teenager commenting on her every jump, and weirdly enough, he might be the one who knows how to fix her weakest element. A hundred days is a long time to share a body with a stranger. What happens when the countdown runs out?
