Keisuke Niijima met Takae at work, and over time they built a life together: marriage, a daughter named Mai, ordinary days that turned out to be the best ones. Then Takae died. That was ten years ago. Since then the apartment has gone quiet in a bad way. Keisuke drifts through it like a ghost, and Mai, now grown, barely leaves her room and hardly speaks to him. Two people under one roof, strangers. Then a ten-year-old girl named Marika Shiraishi shows up at their door and says she is Takae reborn. And she gets details right. Things no child could guess. Keisuke starts to believe, and for a moment the house has light in it again. But a wife is back in the body of a schoolgirl. A grown man, a daughter who lost her mother, a girl with her own parents and her own life: every single one of them stands to lose something, and Keisuke knows that one wrong move could wreck it all. How long can you hold on to a miracle before it starts breaking the people around you?
