Tsutomu Senkawa has one thing on his mind these days: entrance exams. Between cramming, he sneaks off to poke around abandoned buildings, wandering the ruins of empty city blocks whenever he gets a spare minute. On one of those walks he stumbles into something he absolutely should not have seen. A space cop named Birdy is chasing an intergalactic criminal through the same crumbling building, and in the middle of the firefight she mistakes Tsutomu for the enemy and fatally wounds him. He wakes up in his own bed and figures it was a nightmare. It was not. His body is dead. Birdy saved him the only way she could, by stuffing his consciousness inside her own. So now a high school kid shares a skull with a Federation officer who punches first and asks questions never. By day she works a modeling gig under the name Shion Arita, smiling for cameras while the fugitive she is hunting hides somewhere in the fashion world. By night she hunts aliens. And Tsutomu? He just wants to pass his exams, except he cannot even control his own arms anymore. Three lives, one body, and no manual for any of it. How long before someone notices the model who talks to herself, and how do you study for a test when your roommate keeps dragging you into gunfights?
