Gilgamesh
A research team in Mesopotamia opens the tomb of a legendary king, hoping to crack the secret of immortality. Then the project gets shut down as unethical. Terrorists storm the site anyway, and the explosion that follows doesn't just destroy a lab. The sky turns to mirror. Electronics die. Children born afterward start showing abilities nobody can explain. Years later, Tatsuya and Kiyoko Madoka, kids of one of the researchers, are dodging street thugs. That's the small problem. The bigger one is the war they just walked into, between two shadowy groups who both swear they're rebuilding what's left of the world. One of them answers to a woman who calls herself the Countess. Nobody hands the siblings a scorecard. Both sides say they're right, both sides are hiding something, and Tatsuya and Kiyoko have to pick before the choice gets made for them. So who do you trust when everyone's idea of saving the world starts with the same word?
