Gad Guard

Hajiki is sixteen, running packages across Night Town, a district in Unit 74 where the power dies at midnight and the ground is all scrap and dust. His mother, his little sister, the deliveries. That's the whole routine. Then a job goes sideways and a stone called a GAD ends up in his hands. It shouldn't do anything. It does. The thing reads what you feel and builds itself into a machine. Hajiki's turns into a hulking steel giant he calls Lightning. And he is not the only one. Another GAD went to Katana, and Katana wants Night Town under his boot, whatever it costs the people standing in his way. So now Hajiki is patrolling the same streets he used to just bike through, waking up each day wondering what his own GAD will pull out of him next. Both stones mirror whoever wakes them. Which means the fight is less about metal than about what the two of them carry inside. Katana is brutal, Hajiki is not, yet. What happens to a kid who only wanted to finish his route when the only way to protect his town is to become the thing he is afraid of?
