Twelve years ago two giant machines tore each other apart in the sky over Rimgarde, and almost everyone down below died. Then the robots simply vanished. Nobody talks about it much anymore. In Enastoria, a young empress named Yuinshiel spends her days signing papers and smiling at crowds, trying to hold her country together. Her adopted sister Rena lives quietly at her side. Then survivors from Rimgarde show up, piloting machines called Regalia Gear, and they are not here to talk. They want Rena. Cornered, Rena stops hiding what she is: not a pilot, an actual Regalia, a girl who can turn into a giant robot with her own body. And she is the one who brought Rimgarde down. Now Yuinshiel has a country on one side and a sister on the other, and everyone with a weapon wants a piece of Rena. Every battle the two of them win pulls them closer to the same disaster that wiped Rimgarde off the map. Can Yuinshiel save her sister without burning the world down with her?
