Episode 20 · Eyeshield 21

Eyeshield 21

Sena Kobayakawa has spent his whole life running from bullies. Small, quiet, an easy target since elementary school. But all those years of sprinting away from trouble gave him something nobody noticed: he moves through a crowd like water through fingers, and almost nobody can catch him. Then Youichi Hiruma, the loudest and most terrifying guy at Deimon High, sees him dodge a pack of thugs and decides on the spot that this kid belongs to him now. So Sena joins the American football team. Except he does not get to play as himself. Hiruma hides him behind a visored helmet and the number 21 jersey, and the whole school starts whispering about Eyeshield 21, a phantom runner who supposedly tore up the field back in America. Nobody connects the legend to the timid boy standing right next to them. Every game Sena has to outrun defenders while also outrunning the truth. He is getting faster, and for the first time he has teammates who actually count on him. But how long can a secret like that hold up before someone rips the helmet off?
