Tokyo never really goes dark anymore. Neon signs, convenience store glow, headlights at 3 a.m. So the demons gave up on shadows. They hide in something warmer now: the dark of the human heart. Grudges nobody says out loud. Despair people carry home alone. That is where they nest. Enma runs a detective agency in the city with two others. He is a demon prince born of fire. His partner Yukihime is a princess born of ice. Kapaeru is a monster, and yes, he works the phones. Missing persons, strange deaths, cases the police quietly stop touching. The three of them take the jobs, and they are not gentle about it. They dig through love hotels for leads. They knock down buildings if that is what catching the thing takes. This is not the kids' version of the story from 1973. People die badly here, and the camera does not look away. The cases keep coming, each one uglier than the last. Things no human hands could have done. Something always lingers at the scene, a smell you cannot wash off. Then Enma's fire tears through it. But if demons only need a heart with something wrong inside it, whose heart is next?
