A giant alien ship hangs over Tokyo. It just sits there, three years now, close enough to blot out the sky. Nobody can look up without seeing it. Back when it first showed up, Japan panicked and threw everything at the thing, and that one stupid failed attack turned a standoff into a full war. Weapons rolled off the assembly lines. Pacifists marched. The city kept running anyway, trains on time, convenience stores open. Kadode and Ouran are high school girls who mostly care about snacks and hanging out. The war is background noise to them. Then they stumble onto alien tech they should never have touched, and suddenly two kids who can't even decide what to do after graduation are holding something that could settle the whole planet. The adults around them keep lying, keep wrecking things, and it gets harder to tell who the real monsters are. So when the fate of everyone is sitting in the hands of two teenagers, what exactly are they supposed to do with it?
