Olivia barely speaks a word of Japanese, or so she claims, and she uses that to rope Hanako into a dumb little game of looking away. Hanako is loud and not exactly sharp, so she is all in. Kasumi, sitting nearby in her glasses, wants no part of it. Her older sister has teased her for years about losing games, and she has sworn off playing entirely. Then she gets dragged in anyway, and her revenge is way more twisted than anyone expected. So the three of them start a Pastime Club. The rules are simple: play hide and seek, cards, whatever, and the loser owes the winner one wish. Olivia is secretly fluent in Japanese and just fakes being clueless. Kasumi acts above it all but snaps the second she starts losing. Hanako mostly watches. Somehow this mess works. They fail at English, chase popularity, and get caught by teachers at the worst moments. But with a wish on the line every single time, how long can these three stay friends before one of them wins something they cannot take back?
