A regular cat family lives among humans: a dad who drinks too much, a mom who keeps the house, a dreamy older sister named Nyako, and her restless little brother Nyatta. Then Death shows up and tears the girl's soul clean in half. Nyatta grabs at her, tries to pull her back, and only makes it worse. Now his sister shuffles along behind him with nothing behind her eyes, and he has to find the missing piece of her soul somewhere out there. A magic show that turns genuinely disturbing is just the first stop. God himself hangs around a traveling circus, bored out of his mind, and Death here is something solid, something you can actually fight. Almost nobody speaks in this one. Whole stretches pass with barely a word, just surreal images sliding past each other while a brother quietly falls apart over a sister who does not even know he is there. Is he really getting her back, or is he just dragging an empty shell through a world that stopped making sense?
