Kasumi has been chasing one sound her whole life. Back when she was small and camping under the open sky, she heard something glittering, a rhythm that made her heart pound, and she has been trying to find it again ever since. Years pass. Seasons flip by. Nothing. Then one day, walking home from her high school entrance ceremony, she ducks into the shed of an old pawn shop and finds a star-shaped guitar. Something clicks. She is sure this is it, the Star Beat from her childhood, and she decides on the spot to start a pop band. No plan. No bandmates. Just that feeling. Now she has to actually find people willing to play with her, and getting a group off the ground turns out to be a lot messier than the fantasy in her head. Can a girl this fired up about one mysterious sound really find the friends to stand on stage with her, and make it in music?
