Chika Takami has never joined a single club and has zero talents worth bragging about. Then a trip to Tokyo puts her in front of a screen showing μ's, and something clicks. She goes home to her sleepy seaside town of Numazu, where school idols are basically unknown, and decides to start a club anyway. With her best friend You Watanabe backing her, she starts hunting for members. Then the door slams shut. The student council president, Dia Kurosawa, hates idols and refuses to approve the club at all. No permission, no club, no stage. And the girls Chika tries to recruit are not exactly lining up either. A transfer student named Riko, who can really play piano, might be the one, if Chika can get her to say yes. Chika keeps pushing, quoting μ's lyrics to anyone who will listen, convinced that an ordinary girl from a town nobody has heard of can still stand on that sparkling stage. But can she really pull a group together when the person in charge has already decided she will fail?
