The Third World War left the planet in rubble. From that rubble rose Olympus, a city run by a supercomputer named Gaia and staffed almost entirely by Bioroids, genetically engineered people built to serve. Humans there want for nothing. Then the crime rate starts climbing, and nobody can explain why paradise needs a SWAT team. Deunan Knute and her partner Briareos, a man more machine than flesh, work the worst cases Olympus has to offer. When a group of terrorists vows to tear down the city's way of life, the two of them promise to stop it, whatever it takes. But some of Olympus' own residents think the terrorists have a point, and that is the part nobody wants to talk about. So who exactly is the enemy here: the ones planting the bombs, or the ones who built a perfect city on top of a graveyard?
