She's sixteen, she commands a ship, and she doesn't charge a single credit for it. Li Meifon runs Angel Links, a protection outfit that escorts vessels through the Oracion star system for free, which sounds like charity until the pirates show up and she wipes them out with a calm that doesn't fit a teenager. Her crew follows her without argument. They'd follow her anywhere. Then the dreams start. Or maybe they were always there, pushed down under the noise of running a ship and keeping everyone alive. Faces she can't place. A past that doesn't add up. Meifon begins to wonder who she actually is, and the answer is not sitting quietly waiting for her. Between gunfights with raiders, run-ins with government types who clearly know more than they're saying, and a Tao master who seems to have a personal interest in her, the crew keeps flying. Every job takes them somewhere new. Every stop pulls a little more of the truth loose, and some of it looks like it could break her. What happens when the girl who protects everyone else finally learns what she's been running from?
