One colony got tired of taking orders from Earth, and that was all it took. The 7th Space War turned into the worst fight anyone had ever seen. Earth answered with mobile suits called Gundams. The colonies answered with something far worse: they shoved hundreds of their own homes out of orbit and let them fall. The planet went dark for seven years under a nuclear winter. The Federation crumbled. The colonies couldn't move in either. Fifteen years later, in the year After War 0015, a new Federation is trying to put the pieces back together, and up in space the colonial leaders are quietly rebuilding their own armies. Garrod Ran is fifteen. He isn't a soldier, isn't a hero, just a kid who stumbles onto an old Federation mobile suit buried somewhere it shouldn't be: a Gundam X. He climbs in anyway. Now he's flying it alongside the Vulture ship Freeden, a crew with its own reasons to be nervous about what the new Federation and the colonies are cooking up. Everyone says they're just keeping the peace. Everyone is lying about something. Can one teenager in a machine from a war nobody wants to remember stop the same mistake from happening twice?
