Humanity almost died out when the Gadoll showed up. The survivors crammed into Deca-Dence, a walking fortress split down the middle: Gears up top who go out and fight, Tankers down below who butcher Gadoll meat and patch up the walls. Natsume lives in the Tank, and her right arm is prosthetic, and none of that stops her from wanting the front lines. Then comes the twist. Her enlistment gets rejected, flat out, so she takes a job scrubbing armor for Kaburagi, a repair-team lead who seems bored of everything. He notices something in her. What he really is, though, would change how she sees the whole fortress. Kaburagi starts training her. Not for the Power. For something else, a role he calls a bug in the system, a way to break how the world runs. So what happens when the bug finally bites?
