Ryuuichi Naruhodou is still fighting for the wrongly accused in court, pulling off his usual last second saves, and his name keeps spreading because of it. Then a rookie prosecutor shows up wearing a mask, sipping coffee through the whole trial, and he clearly hates Ryuuichi for reasons nobody can explain. Godot. That is the name. The grudge turns personal fast, and the deeper Ryuuichi digs with Mayoi at his side, the more the case pulls in her family. Two old trials handled by her late sister Chihiro suddenly matter again, and they point toward a murder that does not seem possible in any normal sense. Meanwhile a magazine article about a spirit medium training course catches Ryuuichi's eye, and in its pages he sees a girl from his own past. Someone who should not exist anymore. Not here, not now. So he heads to the temple with Mayoi, chasing a face he thought was gone, while Godot waits for him back in the courtroom with scores to settle. Everything connects: the Ayasato clan, the missing girl, the masked prosecutor. What exactly is Godot after, and why does the truth keep pointing back at Ryuuichi himself?
