Kamui Shirou comes back to Tokyo after six years away. He is fifteen, he can bend reality with his mind, and he promised his mother he would do one thing: protect his childhood friends Fuuma and Kotori. So what does he do? He keeps his distance. Pushes them away. Tries to steal a sacred sword from the temple run by their own father, and when that goes sideways, someone else walks off with the blade. Meanwhile a dream seer named Princess Hinoto has already watched humanity burn in her visions, and she is sure Kamui is the one standing at the center of it. She sends the Dragons of Heaven to recruit him. He says no. Then the Dragons of Earth come for the people he loves, one attack after another, and saying no stops being an option. Pick a side and the world survives but his friends might not. Pick the other and the planet burns but they live. Does Kamui even get to choose, or was this decided the moment he stepped off that train?
