Tribe Nine
Haru Shirokane can't even stand up for himself. When a pack of kids corners him, he just takes it, until two strangers step in: Shun Kamiya, the star slugger of the Minato Tribe, and Taiga, a hothead who wants nothing more than to crush Shun and take his spot as the best. Before Haru can catch his breath, he's on the roster too, a total rookie with zero games under his belt. Here's the thing about Neo-Tokyo. The youth gave up on society and split into tribes, and when their grudges turned bloody, the government stepped in with one weird rule: settle it on the diamond. Extreme Baseball. Extendable bats, pitchers strapped into combat gear, a robot umpire calling whatever it feels like allowing. Barely baseball, honestly. More like a brawl with innings. The Minato Tribe sits at the top of Minato City, but a new crew is moving in, run by some shadowy figure named Oujirou Otori, and Shun's about to find out what they're really after. Two kids with raw talent and no experience might be the only edge he has left. Will they hold the line, or is the whole tribe about to get wiped off the field?
