The Karugamo High baseball team is falling apart. They got crushed by the Eagles, and one by one the players quit until only eight were left. Eight. One short of a real game, so the captain, Shunpei, does something he swore he never would: he buys a robot. Problem is, baseball bots cost a fortune, and his savings get him exactly one maid robot named Azusa. She pours tea. She tidies up. She has never held a bat in her life, and the teams they're up against are stacked with top of the line machines built to do nothing but win. Shunpei and the others decide to believe in her anyway. Azusa has a good heart and refuses to give up, which is nice, but nice does not stop a line drive. Then again, there is something odd buried in her past, something clouded and half forgotten that nobody can quite explain. Can a maid robot with a warm smile really save a team that nobody else would take?
