Genji Kamishiro runs Custos, and he has just done something the Attractors never saw coming. He lured several of their own into custody. Not killed them. Kept them. That is the part that scares everyone. A handful of Attractors decide they cannot wait, cannot play it safe, and break into the Custos headquarters to pull their friends out. Meanwhile Quon Mitsuchi finally learns what the Tears of Time really are and why his younger brother Towa has been sealed inside that crystal all this time. He tries to reach him. He fails. Towa ends up in Kamishiro's hands, and Kamishiro is not just some bureaucrat hunting monsters. He is one of them, with a gift for swallowing other people's power. What he wants to do with it is worse than anything the Attractors feared: use Towa's strength to turn every human alive into one of them. Now the ones called monsters have to fight for a world that despises them, and maybe for the warmth still left in human hearts. Can they get Towa back before Kamishiro finishes what he started?
