![Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works]](/uploads/anime/22297/p-sm.webp)

The world ended, and what's left of humanity rolls along on giant moving cities called Regios. Outside the walls, mutated beasts swarm and wait. Inside, kids train with weapons called Dite, pulling on a force known as Kei just to stay alive. In the Academy City of Zuellni, a new student named Layfon Alseif keeps his head down. New life, clean slate, that's the plan. Then Nina Antalk, captain of the 17th Military Arts Platoon, watches him move for about five seconds and decides she has to have him. The Student Council President, Karian Loss, starts paying attention too, and that kind of attention is never free. Layfon wants nothing to do with any of it. He came here to bury who he used to be. But the past doesn't bury that easy, and there's something inside him that doesn't fit the rules everyone else plays by, something far past normal. Nina needs a fighter. Karian needs a piece on his board. Layfon just needs to be left alone, and nobody is going to give him that. So how long can a guy keep running from himself when an entire city is counting on him to fight?
