Banjou spends his days hauling trash along the spherical wall at the edge of settled space. Quiet job. Quiet life. Then he pries open a wrecked ship and finds a girl inside, frozen solid. Bad news follows fast: armed men want her back, and his sleepy corner of the galaxy turns loud overnight. What Banjou doesn't know is who he just thawed. She's Goza the 168th, and the whole universe's fate supposedly rests on her. The Pan Galaxy Republic fell apart ages ago, empires crumbled with it, and people got scattered across the stars. So these two set off to put the Republic back together. Slowly. Step by step. It won't be easy, but that's never stopped him before. Can a guy who picks up garbage really drag a dead republic back to life, or is he just hauling the whole galaxy into a bigger mess?
