Chika, Miu, Matsuri and Ana are just kids killing time after school. They bake something that might be cookies. They walk to the corner store. Nobue, Chika's twenty year old sister, is supposed to be the adult in the room, though half the time the girls are the ones poking her awake and hiding her cigarettes. It looks like nothing. It never is. Because Miu cannot leave a peaceful afternoon alone. She pokes, she schemes, she pushes every joke right up to the edge, and sweet, trusting Matsuri walks straight into it every single time. Chika is the one who keeps her head down and actually does the homework. Then there is Ana, a foreign girl who has been in Japan so long she sounds more local than anyone, which somehow makes Miu's games even funnier to watch. So the days pile up: a part time job that goes sideways, a holiday nobody prepared for, lunch that turns into a small disaster. No villains, no destiny, just five people and a routine they keep breaking on purpose. Will Nobue ever actually act like the grown up, or have the girls already decided she never has to?
