Chiyo Mihama walks into her first day of high school and everyone assumes she wandered in from the elementary school next door. She did not. She is ten, she is a prodigy, and she is about to spend three years surrounded by classmates and teachers who are, in their own ways, far stranger than she is. Take her homeroom teacher, Yukari, who will absolutely steal a student's bike if it means not being late. The class fills up fast with oddballs. Tomo runs on pure noise, and her best friend Koyomi has a temper with a very short fuse. Sakaki looks like a model and melts over every cat, though the cats want nothing to do with her. Ayumu Kasuga transfers in from Osaka, spends most of her time staring at clouds, and has theories about Chiyo's pigtails nobody asked for. Then there is Kagura, who keeps trying to beat Sakaki at everything while Sakaki quietly does not care. Tests, festivals, sports days, summer trips to a house by the sea. Six girls, two teachers, three years of it. The laughter is constant and the weirdness rarely stops. So what happens when the last bell of senior year finally rings?
