Stardust Telepath
Umika has spent fifteen years talking to the sky. Not out loud, exactly. In her head, where it is safe. Aliens are the plan, and a plan is easier than people, because aliens use telepathy and telepathy skips the hard part: saying words to a face that might laugh. Her classmates already do laugh. They call her strange and she agrees with them. Then a girl drops into her life. Yuu Akeuchi sits down like she owns the room, announces she crash landed here, and cannot remember a single thing from before. Umika wants to grab this with both hands and cannot make herself move. So Yuu does something else. She reaches straight into Umika's head, past all the noise, and suddenly there is someone on the other side who hears her. Now they have a project: build a rocket, get off this planet, go find the place Yuu came from. There is a club room, and glue, and arguments about engines that absolutely should not work. Umika still flinches when people look at her too long. Yuu still cannot explain what she is, or why she is here, or what she left behind. And somewhere past all that blue, something might already be looking back.
