Yorito Morimiya is the kind of kid who climbs out of bed at four in the morning just to catch a sunrise on camera. Clouds, colors, the way the light changes minute by minute: he wants all of it. One morning a stranger interrupts him. A girl is kicking and shoving a vending machine because it swallowed her money and won't give up the tomato juice she paid for. He walks over, works the can loose, and turns around to hand it to her. She's gone. Then she keeps turning up, and every time she does, the world around Yorito gets a little stranger. His sister Aono, his childhood friends Mana and Koyori, all of them carry secrets he never noticed before. The girl with the tomato juice is hiding the biggest one, and it has something to do with why she can stand in front of him one second and vanish the next. Yorito just wanted to photograph the sky. Now he's caught between people who need him and a loneliness he can't fix with a camera. What is he willing to lose to keep her from disappearing for good?
