The year is 2100, and humanity has built a home on the Moon. Down in the labs, Kurau's father runs a project chasing new forms of energy. She turns twelve and begs him to let her watch the experiments. He says yes. Something tears loose in the machinery, two beams of light hit her at once, and when the smoke clears her father is staring at a stranger wearing his daughter's face. Two energy beings now live inside her body, and the power they carry is not small. Kurau is still in there somewhere, but she is not alone in her own skin, and the people who built that lab want their project back. So she runs. What does a girl do when the only thing she can trust is the thing that took her life away?
