Mitsumi Iwakura has her whole life mapped out on paper. Get into a top Tokyo high school, then the best university in the country, then fix Japan. She leaves her tiny countryside town with a plan and zero doubts. Then she gets lost on the very first morning, somewhere in the middle of the city crush. She runs into Sousuke Shima, another first year who is just as late as she is. They walk in together. Problem solved? Not even close. By lunch Mitsumi has already made a mess of her first impression, and now the whole class is staring at the quiet country girl who somehow keeps ending up next to the prettiest boy in the room.
