Wakana Gojou spends his afternoons hunched over a sewing machine, stitching tiny kimonos for traditional hina dolls. His grandfather has spent half a lifetime mastering the craft, and Wakana dreams of catching up, though he still can't shape a doll's head the way he wants. At school he keeps his mouth shut about all of it. Teenagers would eat him alive if they knew. Then Marin Kitagawa corners him. She's the girl everyone watches, always laughing, always surrounded. And she has a secret of her own: she plays erotic games and dresses up as the characters. When she finds out he can sew, she practically pounces, turning all that charm on him until he agrees to make her a costume. One outfit turns into the next. They stay late measuring fabric, arguing over ruffles, and somewhere in there his quiet life stops being quiet. Marin is nothing like him: loud where he's shy, bold where he's terrified. Still, the two of them keep ending up in the same room, needles and thread between them. Is it just the costumes pulling them together, or something Wakana hasn't figured out how to name yet?
