Something enormous drops into the middle of Tokyo. No warning, no explanation. Just a strange presence parked over the city, and the Alta Mira Agency gets the call to push it back. Their weapon of choice: the Battle Sole unit, an all female squad of pilots, led by commander Otsuya Funagai. Here is the problem. Funagai is involved with Rin Ichikawa, one of the women flying under his command. Secret meetings, shared glances, the kind of thing that stays quiet until it does not. Put that tension inside a cockpit and the whole squad starts to feel it. Now the pilots have to fight something they barely understand while the man giving the orders cannot keep his personal life out of the mission. The city is counting on a team that may already be coming apart from the inside. How long can you keep a secret when everyone's lives depend on trusting the person next to you?
