She and Her Cat: Everything Flows

Kanojo to Kanojo no Neko: Everything Flows · 彼女と彼女の猫 -Everything Flows-
Slice of Life2016LIDENFILMSRating 7,70+HD

For a year and a half it was the three of them: Kanojo, her cat Daru, and Tomoka, the roommate who split the rent. Then Tomoka packs her things and leaves, and the apartment stops being affordable. If Kanojo wants to keep the place, she needs a job. So the days turn into a grind. She fills out applications, sits through interviews, comes home tired, and Daru is there through all of it, watching from the floor or the windowsill with those unreadable cat eyes, waiting for the door to open. He has known her since she was small. He does not understand what a job is. He only knows when she is gone and when she is back. It is a quiet, small story, told mostly from a cat's point of view, about a girl who moved out of her mother's house and is learning what it costs to stand on her own. Will she land something before the money runs out, and does Daru have any idea how much he is holding her together right now?
