A rainy spring day, a cardboard box, and that is how Chobi lands in the life of a young woman who scoops him up and carries him home. He falls for her fast. Hard. She is kind, she is pretty, and she smells like everything good. The apartment is small, the two of them share it for a whole year, and here is the twist: he will never really know her. Her day happens in a language he cannot speak. She comes home tired, quiet, sometimes sad, and he watches from the floor with no idea what any of it means. So he does the only thing a cat can do. He stays close. He waits by the door, curls up where she can reach him, tries to read the moods that move across her face like weather. She talks to him sometimes. He listens, always, even when the words are nothing but sound. Two lives running side by side in one tiny room, never quite touching.
