Mikoto Shiratori was supposed to be a badminton star. A former child prodigy, he played for Mitsuhoshi Bank, where the athletes trained all day and the company picked up the tab. Then it fell apart. He got fired, and just when things looked grim, Sunlight Beverage came calling with a spot on their team. Here is the catch. Practices start in the evening because during the day Mikoto works in the sales department, cold calling clients and chasing quotas like any other office drone. He thought he was hired to swing a racket, not push product. And the company insists he play doubles, the one thing he swore he would never do again. He knows nothing about sales. Training time keeps slipping away. His new teammates are a strange bunch he cannot quite figure out. Is this really the fresh start he needed, or did he just trade one dead end for another?
