Ryou Mizushima picked up a badminton racket in junior high mostly because his friends did, and then he could not put it down. No coach, no real plan, just hours in a gym until he scraped his way into the prefectural tournament. A local high school where he could play for fun sounded fine. That was the whole idea. Then Ebihara, a coach from Yokohama Minato, shows up and asks him to join the strongest team around. The same school where Kento Yusa plays, the guy Ryou has been chasing in his head for years. Ryou almost says no. He is shy, he figures he does not belong on that court, and his sister is the one who finally talks him into it. Now he is stuck in brutal practices with teammates who push him, rivals who do not blink, and a coach who sees something Ryou cannot see in himself yet. Can a kid who only ever played for fun really survive a school built to win nationals?
