A rumor is going around Tokyo. Say the word into the Ask-a-Thief Channel and the Phantom Thieves of Hearts will come, steal the heart of whoever wronged you, and leave them drowning in regret. Nobody knows who they are. People just keep filing requests, and somewhere in the city, impossible things keep happening. Then there's Kazuya Makigami. By day, nothing special. By night, he breaks into houses with a crew that has started to make his skin crawl. He wants out. He can't say it to their faces, so he types a request into the channel instead, like a coward, like a man with no other move left. He is asking a ghost story to fix his life. He has no idea what he just invited in. The Phantom Thieves are real, and they work in a place that shouldn't exist, pulling twisted desires straight out of people's heads. But a thief who wants to quit is still a thief, and the crew he's scared of isn't going to let him walk. So who shows up first: the ones he ratted on, or the ones he begged for help?
