Naho wakes up late on the first day of her second year, grabs a letter with her own name on it, and starts reading. It is from herself at 26. She laughs it off until the things it describes begin to happen, one after another, exactly as written. Then the new kid walks into class: Kakeru, quiet, carrying something heavy behind his eyes. The letter has one rule buried in it. Keep an eye on him. Because ten years from now, Kakeru is not there anymore. Naho, sixteen and barely able to talk to a boy she likes, now has to steer every small choice she makes around a person she is only just meeting. Friends pull her one way, her own nerves pull another, and the deadline she cannot see keeps moving closer. Can a girl who keeps second-guessing herself really change something her future self already lived through?
