Satoru Fujinuma is 29, draws manga, and mostly keeps to himself. He also has a trick he never asked for: right before something terrible happens, time snaps backward a few minutes and drops him there. He calls it Revival. He has used it quietly, again and again, to pull strangers out of the path of trucks and falls. Then someone close to him is killed, and the police decide he is the one who did it. No alibi, no way to explain what he can do. So time throws him back. Not minutes this time. Eighteen years, all the way to 1988, and he is a kid again in a classroom he half remembers, sitting near Kayo Hinazuki. She is the quiet girl everyone ignores, the one who always seems to be waiting for something bad. He knows what happens to her. He also starts to suspect her death and the murder in the present are the same thread, pulled tight across two decades. Now he has one shot at being eleven years old with an adult's memory. He has to get close to a girl who trusts nobody, outsmart whoever is doing this, and keep the people he loves in the present from paying for his mistakes. And the clock is running on a crime that has not happened yet. Can you change the past without losing everything you came back for?
