Keitarou made a promise as a kid: Tokyo University, same girl, years later. At twenty he has flunked the entrance exam twice and landed near the bottom of the national rankings, so he holes up at his grandmother's inn to cram. Except grandma's inn is gone. In its place: a girls' dormitory, five residents, zero warning. They are not thrilled. There is Naru, sharp and also aiming for Todai, who seems weirdly familiar. Mitsune drifts through with a drink and a smirk. Kaolla builds things that explode. Shinobu can barely say hello without shrinking. Motoko swings a bamboo sword and does not trust him one bit. Somehow, instead of getting thrown out, Keitarou ends up running the place. So now he studies between broken pipes and flying machinery, chasing a girl whose face he can hardly remember, while the girls slowly stop treating him like an intruder. What happens when the one he keeps studying for turns out to be closer than he thinks?
